Anneke taught English as a second language in Galicia, Spain for two years after graduation, and then landed in western Washington in 2016 to complete a certificate in Natural Science Illustration at the University of Washington.
Throughout her varied career, Anneke has been committed to fostering relationships between the environment, humans, and non-human species through education, art, and science. She’s participated in numerous artist residencies at the nexus of art and science and is a regular contributor to Hyldyr, a publication company that combines art, ecology, and folklore. Her paintings have been featured in galleries across the US in both group and solo exhibitions. Anneke is currently pursuing a master’s in environmental studies at Evergreen with interests in restoration ecology, environmental justice, and science communication. She works as the Education Development and Outreach Coordinator at the Sustainability in Prisons Project.
Anneke will be seeking employment upon graduating in spring 2026 and is looking to combine previous experience in project management with her passion for ecology, plants, and people. She’s always open to collaborations and fun new and exciting projects!
