So important to Olympia (Jim Nieland)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_48\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.evergreen.edu\/forbesportfolio\/files\/2014\/11\/tcad-building-street-view.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-48\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.evergreen.edu\/forbesportfolio\/files\/2014\/11\/tcad-building-street-view-300x257.png\" alt=\"Screenshot of building development in tinkercad\" width=\"300\" height=\"257\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Screenshot of building development in tinkercad<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>How can someone experience Olympia even without being there?<\/p>\n<p>Olympia is a beautiful city. \u00a0Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible to see that from an aerial view or a map. \u00a0To experience the beauty and to feel the vibes of the city it is important to be within it\u2014to be able to view surroundings from many different angles.\u00a0 Capturing Olympia\u2019s essence in photography is a step in the right direction, but imagine viewing the city by means of a 3D physical model.\u00a0 It would be like a miniature Olympia that you can hold in your hands or set up on your desk.<\/p>\n<p>Digital representation can be great.\u00a0 It can document and enhance scenes.\u00a0 I think a digital version of this 3D rendering of Olympia would maybe be more practical.\u00a0 It could be used as an app on a cell phone to be pulled up and used anytime.\u00a0 Especially if the rendering is very realistic and can be moved around in all different angles, it would be just as useful as the physical version, most likely.\u00a0 But I think that it is worth bringing this idea into physical existence because there\u2019s something about being able to touch and move what you&#8217;re looking at.\u00a0 I believe people would be more interested in viewing the model for a decent amount of time if it was a physically present model.\u00a0 It wouldn\u2019t necessarily be more useful, and definitely not more practical than the digital version, but I believe it would be more enjoyable and exciting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How can someone experience Olympia even without being there?
