I try to get a good scan, I really don\u2019t see\u00a0you as that (an object)\u201d<\/span><br style=\"color: #888888\" \/><span style=\"color: #888888\">-John<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.evergreen.edu\/johnmakingportfolio\/files\/2014\/11\/jjj.jpg?csspreview=true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-86\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.evergreen.edu\/johnmakingportfolio\/files\/2014\/11\/jjj.jpg\" alt=\"jjj\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">This is an attempt to\u00a0explain but by no means justify a small aspect\u00a0of the objectification of women within our society. \u00a0I think that often the one directly responsible for executing this objectification within the creative world of digital media is often blinded in the moment of creativity. \u00a0This was my experience while scanning Lauren and then having a conversation with her about it days later. \u00a0Was my goal as the creator of the scan to show her as an object? No. \u00a0But now, stepping back, I can see how easily this image of her, although not my intention, could be used to objectify her. \u00a0I am reminded that we as\u00a0&#8216;Makers&#8217; must\u00a0take a step back from the creative process and take responsibility for the things we make and how they may affect the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&ldquo;Do I give up my agency when I give up my physicality to John with a scanner?
