He became a member of the Exhibitions and Programs Advisory Committee of the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.olyaha.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Olympia Arts &amp; Heritage Alliance Museum<\/a>, and an editor for the <a href=\"https:\/\/thenaturalhistorymuseum.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Natural History Museum<\/a>\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/wordsaremonuments.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Words Are Monuments<\/a>\u201d place-name project. For the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.criticaledgealliance.com\/conference-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Critical Edge Alliance international gathering<\/a> at Evergreen, he organized the Community Engagement Day visit to the Squaxin Island and Nisqually tribes. He lectured on Evergreen Native Studies projects to the Hochschule Weihenstephan-Triesdorf in Germany, and served on a Ph.D. dissertation committee for the Universit\u00e9 Bordeaux Montaigne in France. When ICE and National Guardsman occupied U.S. cities, he published \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.counterpunch.org\/2025\/06\/13\/a-brief-history-of-u-s-military-interventions-within-the-united-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A Brief History of U.S. Military Interventions Within the United States<\/a>,\u201d and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/znetwork.org\/znetarticle\/10-reasons-why-ice-is-harassing-native-americans\/?fbclid=IwY2xjawPStaxleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEeyRJvkdRvXPWcEHi_GIrJhfMiCG2rO89e0uhwDcqR7puKM2XDShdRJdnaHIw_aem_QYE9xS5d4IKUGmrZGxfUOg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10 Reasons Why ICE is Harassing Native Americans<\/a>\u201d (ZNet and Counterpunch), and was interviewed by <a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/user-240416425\/2026-02-10a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RiverWest Radio<\/a>. During the Iran War, he has<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/d\/1eYA8Bdnu3PYH6zXw5VSKaU2iTtGfOIbA\/edit?slide=id.p1#slide=id.p1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> lectured about Iran<\/a> to LELO-Seattle and the Olympia Forum on the Iran Crisis, published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.counterpunch.org\/2026\/02\/27\/escalation-of-this-war-could-shatter-iran-into-ethnic-enclaves\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cEscalation of this War Could Shatter Iran into Ethnic Enclaves<\/a>\u201d (Portside), organized the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/zoltan\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/358\/2026\/04\/InterventionHeadstones2026.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Interventions Headstones<\/a>\u201d educational project, and was interviewed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wortfm.org\/this-war-is-about-oil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A Public Affair<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/civicmedia.us\/shows\/matenaer-on-air\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matenaer on Air<\/a>. He later published \u201cTrump\u2019s Wars are Putting the \u2018Geo\u2019 Back Into Geopolitics\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/home\/dhg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Dialogues in Human Geography<\/em><\/a>.
