Zolt\u00e1n Grossman<\/a> delivered the 2025 Evergreen graduation faculty speech<\/a>, and in 2026 presented on \u201cPower Back: Native Nations Projecting Authority Back into Stolen Lands\u201d<\/a> to the American Association of Geographers in San Francisco. He became a member of the Exhibitions and Programs Advisory Committee of the new Olympia Arts & Heritage Alliance Museum<\/a>, and an editor for the Natural History Museum<\/a>\u2019s \u201cWords Are Monuments<\/a>\u201d place-name project. For the Critical Edge Alliance international gathering<\/a> at Evergreen, he organized the Community Engagement Day visit to the Squaxin Island and Nisqually tribes. He lectured on Evergreen Native Studies projects to the Hochschule Weihenstephan-Triesdorf in Germany, and served on a Ph.D. dissertation committee for the Universit\u00e9 Bordeaux Montaigne in France. When ICE and National Guardsman occupied U.S. cities, he published \u201cA Brief History of U.S. Military Interventions Within the United States<\/a>,\u201d and \u201c10 Reasons Why ICE is Harassing Native Americans<\/a>\u201d (ZNet and Counterpunch), and was interviewed by RiverWest Radio<\/a>. During the Iran War, he has lectured about Iran<\/a> to LELO-Seattle and the Olympia Forum on the Iran Crisis, published \u201cEscalation of this War Could Shatter Iran into Ethnic Enclaves<\/a>\u201d (Portside), organized the \u201cInterventions Headstones<\/a>\u201d educational project, and was interviewed by A Public Affair<\/a> and Matenaer on Air<\/a>. He later published \u201cTrump\u2019s Wars are Putting the \u2018Geo\u2019 Back Into Geopolitics\u201d in Dialogues in Human Geography<\/em><\/a>. Native nations maps produced by his \u201cArt and Place<\/a>\u201d students were displayed in the Evergreen Library in spring, and will be exhibited in the Evergreen Gallery in fall, along with wool weavings produced by Susan Pavel\u2019s students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
