Zolt\u00e1n Grossman<\/a> edited the Olympia\u2019s Hidden Histories<\/em><\/a> self-guided walking tours of downtown Olympia, by students in \u201cAmerican Frontiers: Homelands and Borderlands<\/a>.\u201d The ArcGIS StoryMaps walking tours tell the stories of how Indigenous and immigrant communities (and salmon and oysters) were historically displaced, and how those communities and ecosystems are being revitalized. The October public launch was attended by 100 people, including the Squaxin Island Chairman, Olympia Mayor Pro Sem, and Evergreen President. Zolt\u00e1n presented on \u201cTribal Collaboration in StoryMaps Walking Tours<\/a>\u201d to the American Association of Geographers (AAG) in Denver, and Native American and Indigenous Studies Association (NAISA) in Toronto. He also presented on \u201cEvergreen Indigenous Geography and Climate Projects<\/a>,\u201d to the \u201cWashington Tribes: Leading the Way to Combat Climate Change\u201d conference at Squaxin Island, and the fall student orientation, and online to the Critical Edge Alliance<\/a> conference (Paris) and Sustainability Across Regions series (Munich). He was interviewed about \u201cMilitary Presence and Its Impact on Communities<\/a>\u201d in western Washington (and the Evergreen students\u2019 Basewatch<\/em><\/a> website), for KBOO radio<\/a> and a Sound Defense Alliance<\/a> podcast.
