The library has updated their Interlibrary Loan search technology, and now it is easier than ever to search the catalog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hello from the library!<\/p>

We hope the summer has been treating you well and isn\u2019t speeding by for you too quickly. Where did the time go!?<\/p>

Library search technology is changing in ways intended to lower barriers for students<\/strong>. In the past, Interlibrary Loan<\/strong>\/ILL<\/strong> required the researcher to take extra steps; moving forward, those requests take place within our catalog.<\/p>

So how do you create an interlibrary loan (ILL) request?<\/strong><\/p>

1.      Start with a search in our catalog. The new system is designed to encourage you to search so that you can determine if we have access before an interlibrary loan request is made.<\/p>

2.      If you don\u2019t see what you want in your initial search, you will see an option to \u201cexpand your search\u201d just above your search results. You can click that to jump out to a search that looks for articles and expanded holdings from our interlibrary loan partner libraries.<\/p>

3.      If you still aren\u2019t seeing what you want, you will now see an option above the search results: \u201cStill didn\u2019t find what you need? Send a request\u201d \u2013 this will let you fill out a blank ILL form.<\/p>

It\u2019s new for us, too!<\/strong><\/p>

We\u2019re adjusting to this change as well, but we\u2019re optimistic that it will start to feel natural before you know it, and that we will continue to be able to fill the majority of requests that come our way.<\/p>
