Happy end of Spring Quarter, everyone! We\u2019re almost at the finish line of this extraordinary year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please consult these announcements and dates to help close out your quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faculty-related <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Happier Holistic Advising: Policy & Practices Review<\/strong> work group will be visiting the Week 10 faculty meeting. In advance of the meeting, please complete the survey<\/a> about how we award credit to help inform our discussion. Please also review our draft of recommendations<\/a>. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fall Academic Retreat: <\/strong>Our annual Academic Retreat will be held over three days: September 16 (10-3:30), 20 (1-5:00) and 22 (1-5:00), 2021. The agenda for the Retreat is currently being developed by the Agenda Committee and Academic Deans. We’ll be in touch with more details during the summer.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Global supply chains have disrupted purchasing:<\/strong> if your fall teaching requires purchasing for library materials, equipment, hardware, software, licenses, lab or studio needs, etc make those requests before July 1 to increase the chance your request can be fulfilled.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student-related<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student Assessment:<\/strong> While we are still in this remote environment, we encourage you to continue to extend flexibility<\/em> to assist students in earning as many credits as possible. Please remember that a student who earns less than 12 of their registered credits can face serious financial aid consequences, because less than 12 credits put them at \u201chalf-time\u201d status and they may need to return substantial financial aid. Students earning less than \u00be of any attempted credits can move into Academic Warning (after two such quarters) or Required Leave of Absence (after three such quarters). If a student gets ill, please advise them carefully about options to earn the most credits possible, including provisions for make-up work. Inform students about the campus leave of absence <\/a>option.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Academic Statements: <\/strong>Students will still be required to submit their annual and final academic statements this spring. As you know, a well-written Academic Statement is a tribute to the student\u2019s learning; a hastily written one can overshadow all the wonderful things you write about them in your evaluations. With that in mind, we encourage you to dedicate some extra attention to the Academic Statement, particularly for your graduating seniors. Annual iterations of the statement were due May 21<\/strong>; graduating seniors need to submit their final statement by June 11<\/strong>. Summer ILC\/INT Policy:  <\/strong>Guidelines for students<\/a> <\/strong> developing an Individual Learning Contract (ILC) or an Internship (INT) for Summer 2021 are the same as guidelines for remote learning issued in the spring. Students should expect to conduct learning remotely under current state guidelines. Guidelines for ILCs and INTs are expected to change in fall quarter. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basic Needs Center<\/strong>: Please let students know they can make an appointment<\/a> to access the Basic Needs Center. It is open on Mondays and Wednesdays, 3pm-6pm, for 15-minute drop ins. It is located on the first floor of the CAB (former space for the bike shop). Items currently available in limited quantities includes: PPE, food pantry type staples, clothes, hygiene items, and books.
