Hello, colleagues and friends! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m sharing current\nnews, activities, and opportunities from the Critical Edge Alliance, below,\nlike their new student-led online Language cafes, currently being held weekly\nin Arabic, English, Spanish, and Danish. As many of you know, the Critical Edge Alliance<\/a> is\na global collaborative framework, and we are founding members.  The\nnetwork exists to to support universities that focus upon student-centered\nlearning, critical thinking, interdisciplinary teaching and research,\nand social engagement. (Its current memberships includes Al Akhawayn University\nin Morocco, Evergreen and the New School in the US, University of Paris 8 in\nFrance, PUC-Rio in Brazil, Roskilde University in Denmark, the Tata Institute\nof Social Science in India, and the University of Los Andes in Colombia.)\n Please read the newsletter, follow the links, and get involved!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\n conference is instead planned for January 2022 in Paris\n (France). We will return with dates and additional information\n in a later newsletter. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n CEA SUMMER SCHOOL\n CEA again this year offer\n the Summer School on UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),\n August 17-26, 2021, at Roskilde University (Denmark).\n  \n In a world of global\n challenges and crises, the UN Sustainable Development Goals\n (SDGs) provide a framework\n and platform from which solutions and changes can be developed.\n This two week course will introduce and discuss the SDGs in\n theory and practice from an interdisciplinary, research-based\n and critical perspective.\n The course will investigate\n the SDG framework as a driver for change, social innovation and\n sustainability. We will critically examine how the goals can be\n worked with locally, nationally and globally, and explore the\n SDGs\u2019 concept of partnerships with stakeholders such as policy\n makers, private businesses, municipalities and civil\n society.This course includes lectures, debate sessions,\n workshops as well as field visits to investigate the\n application of the UN SDG frame in a local and regional\n context. Guest lectures from University of the Andes (Colombia)\n and the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (India) and\n high-level experts from different sectors are joining the\n course developed in collaboration with the Critical Edge\n Alliance.  The course is available for master and PhD\n students and open to other participants with a bachelor\u2019s\n degree and the required language skills.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Read\n more information about the course in English<\/strong><\/a>\n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n GLOBAL VOICES PODCAST\n The student podcast Global\n Voices has published its third season with the topic \u201cStudent\n Wellbeing During the Lockdown\u201d. Students from all CEA\n universities had a chance to participate in the podcast, and\n share their experiences.  This season has 4 episodes, with\n 2 students from Roskilde University (Denmark) and 2 students\n from the Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia).\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Listen\n on Spotify<\/strong><\/a>\n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n PODCAST IS SEARCHING FOR NEW\n MEMBERS\n At the same time Global\n Voices are searching for new members for the next season. They\n are looking for students who are ready to take initiative and\n help create new interesting and inspirative talks. At the moment they have\n participants from five CEA universities, Roskilde University\n (Denmark), Paris 8 (France), Pontif\u00edcia Universidade Cath\u00f3lica\n do Rio de Janeiro (Brasil), Al Akhawayn University (Morocco),\n and Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia). So far, they are\n successfully holding online cafes in Arabic, English, Spanish\n and Danish. Online events are reoccurring every week. All the\n students meet in a Facebook group where they get information\n regarding the next events. This is a student-driven project\n therefore they are always searching for students who want to\n take initiative and help organize cafes. This time\n they will focus on the experiences of students at Universidad\n de Los Andes (Colombia). They want to discuss the impact of\n social movements on their lives and how they as students find\n themselves as actors of these movements.
