 Dear faculty\nfriends and colleagues \u2013 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A reminder to complete your <\/strong>Academic\nFair form<\/strong><\/a> as\nsoon as possible<\/strong>. Instructions are below. The Fair is this\ncoming Wednesday, May 19, from 4-6 pm<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As promised, Schedule Footprints are now up in\nSchedule Evergreen<\/strong>. Please add this general weekly schedule to your Fair\nHandout. In-person blocks will be assigned later in the quarter (see attached\ntimeline). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

State, federal, and institutional\nsafety guidelines are changing by the day. There are lots of questions about vaccines,\nmasks, and more. We will be working to adjust and adapt our level of in-person\nactivity as appropriate. Please keep in mind that these footprints give\nstudents a reasonable outline for their fall planning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A final note: there was a lot of\nexcitement at the last faculty meeting for deeper involvement in recruitment\nand retention. This is our very best chance – right now – to pitch in and help\nrecruit and retain students. This is where students can meet you, \u201cpick up\u201d\nyour fair handout, ask questions, feel welcome, and get excited \u2013 and you can\nmeet them, ask questions, feel connected, and get excited too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hello Faculty- <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is another\nreminder to please turn in your academic fair materials and zoom link as soon\nas possible (Complete this form<\/a>)-\nwe have had very few submissions for the fair only being a few days away! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Academic Fair for both Summer AND\nFall quarters is coming up quicker than you might realize!  Please make\nsure you have Wednesday, May 19<\/strong>th<\/sup> from 4 to 6 pm on your calendars. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you probably anticipated, the\nAcademic Fair will once again be held in a virtual\/online\/Zoom\nenvironment.  We are following the same setup as the last two\nquarters.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faculty will set up their own zoom\nmeetings for the fair<\/strong>.\nOur friends in academic technologies have been nice enough to put together a\nguide to help you quickly set up your meetings with the settings that are most\nappropriate for this type of event. Faculty should not set up a meeting\nusing Canvas<\/strong>– this meeting type does not work for public events. If you\nneed direction on how to set it up outside of Canvas, please see:  Schedule a Zoom Meeting via the Web Portal<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those zoom links, as well as your\nfair handouts, will be provided to students on this page<\/a>.\nLinks will also be available to the other offices and support services students\nare accustomed to finding at the fair.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faculty need you to take steps 1-3\non the list below by Wednesday, May 12<\/strong>th  <\/strong> to\nhave everything in place before the fair the following week.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Schedule a Zoom Meeting via the Web Portal<\/a>* <\/li>
  2. Complete this form<\/a> for\neach offering you want to display in the online fair guide (if you have more\nthan one in winter please make sure to fill it out for each offering).  <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    *we have heard\nfrom some faculty that individual rooms can be lonely when there\naren\u2019t many students stopping in. Please know that you are welcome to arrange\nwith your colleagues to share a zoom room and move in to break out rooms to\nhave discussions with students. We can\u2019t offer any room management support if\nyou do this, but it is an option. Just make sure everyone puts the same zoom\nlink on the form. Please do not leave the room you have on the form to\nvisit colleagues in other rooms!<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you encounter an issue on\nthe day of that makes your meeting unable to continue, please go to the\nregistration zoom meeting and let them know. The zoom link to registration will\nbe available at https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/academicfair\/<\/a> .   <\/p>\n\n\n\n
