Dear Evergreen Community,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\nare pleased to invite you to hear the inspiring sounds of hip-hop artists,\nproducers, and motivational speakers James Pakootas and Tony Louie (Colville Confederated Tribes) on Thursday,\nApril 15 from 11:30 to 12:30 pm (Zoom). <\/strong>A Q&A session will be held at\n12:30. This musical event kicks off the final day of our upcoming Equity\nSymposium: Wade in the Water. A short biography of James Pakootas and Tony\nLouie can be found below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About James Pakootas & Tony Louie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

James “Just Jamez” Pakootas is an influential,\nmulti-award winning hip hop artist, producer, and motivational speaker who\ncultivates change in the world through the power of words. He delivers attention-commanding\nshows leaving audiences of all ages and cultures impacted by his story-telling\ncapabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tony Louie is an international, award-winning performance artist\ncurrently gracing stages across the world. Whether performing soulful, original\nmusic or paying tribute to his favorite artists when playing cover songs, he\nbrings his own unique flavor to every song he plays. Where the sounds of Chris\nStapleton & John Fogerty intersect, you’ll find Tony Louie’s raw, genuine,\nunfiltered style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James & Tony came together in 2019 and won a Native American\nMusic Award for \u201cBest Hip Hop Video,\u201d then formed the group KnowMadic\nMind.  Tony and James share powerful, soulful voices, and a depth of\nspirit and storytelling that set themselves apart from the pack. They are both\nenrolled members of the Colville Confederated Tribes, and were born and raised\non The Colville Indian Reservation, in Washington State.  Their cultural\nways, traditions, family, and connection to land and water are a woven thread\nthroughout all of their art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
