The goals of this project\nare to integrate all aspects of academic, student support and co-curricular\nevents and activities into Path planning and support infrastructures for\nstudents.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a status report on\nwhere we are in the project and where we are going.&nbsp; I\u2019m going to provide\nconsiderable detail here for transparency \u2013 so stick with me to the end. J&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stage&nbsp;1:\nPath Implementation&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Purpose:&nbsp;<\/strong>To clarify the definition of Paths for\nthe student, to identify within the student journey at Evergreen how we\ncurrently support students in Path planning and learning, and to create an\ninitial engagement with students on their learning plans associated with fields\nof study and Path options.&nbsp; This work includes:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Build definitions for paths and fields\n     of&nbsp;study&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Determine curriculum structure model:\n     subjects&gt;fields of study&gt;paths&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Develop student journey maps, within\n     current support structures illustrating the support students will receive\n     from inquiry to&nbsp;graduation&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Creating a clear and simple advising\n     guide for staff and faculty for Stage I.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Updating the curriculum database and\n     Banner with new fields for the catalog and student profile to associate\n     new fields of study and&nbsp;paths&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Initial catalog update \u2013 with paths and\n     fields of study associated with&nbsp;offerings&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Updating initial Path Pages for\n     recruitment, including providing offering level within the Path \u2013 to\n     attract prospective&nbsp;students&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Updating Field of Study Pages for\n     recruitment \u2013 clarifying what we offer to prospective&nbsp;students&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Engaging new and current students to\n     identify the field(s)&nbsp;of study they are interested in and identifying\n     the&nbsp;possible Paths they can follow to help them learn\u202fthose fields in\n     depth.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Our&nbsp;current plan is to deliver\non&nbsp;all items listed above by\nApril 1, 2021.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are bringing&nbsp;to life\nthe path structure for students in a way that presents the interrelationships\nbetween fields of study and paths that will give students more information\nabout our curriculum. Students will have the opportunity to tell us what fields\nof study they are interested in, as well as to&nbsp;tell us if they&nbsp;are choosing&nbsp;to\nfollow a&nbsp;planned path or&nbsp;chart their own path.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an\ninitial&nbsp;stage&nbsp;to provide new content and connecting the content with\nthe curriculum and with the students in order to move to&nbsp;Stage&nbsp;II of\nour plan.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vision\nStatement and Guidance for Updates to Online Academic Content&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>\nAs a part\nof&nbsp;Stage&nbsp;1 development, the core team developed the following for\nguiding our work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The purpose\nof Path webpages is to serve as a primary recruiting tool for attracting\nstudents by showing them an option for how to progress to an advanced level of\nlearning in their area of interest at Evergreen.<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Paths\u202fprovide wayfinding for\u202f<strong><em>students\n     who want to see how they can progress from introductory to advanced level\n     courses and programs in one or more related fields<\/em><\/strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Paths provide\u202f<strong><em>clarity\n     on how Evergreen will support students on their learning journey\n     (i.e.&nbsp;learning opportunities, facilities, resources, events,\n     activities, etc.) students in their learning<\/em><\/strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Paths provide a place for students\n     to&nbsp;see&nbsp;<strong><em>at a&nbsp;glance&nbsp;opportunities&nbsp;for high\n     impact practices such as capstones and internships and how they can\n     prepare for careers and graduate school.<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The purpose\nof Fields of Study webpages is to describe the fields of study that are\navailable for students to confidently learn at Evergreen.<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Fields of study are<strong><em>&nbsp;academic\n     areas where student can count on having a significant\u202famount\u202fof curricular\n     choices on a regular basis<\/em><\/strong>.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Fields of Study pages\u202f<strong><em>connect\u202fa\n     student\u202fdirectly to faculty<\/em><\/strong>\u202fwho\n     can serve as\u202fresources\u202ffor students with an\n     interest in creating an emphasis in a particular area.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Most Field of Study pages will\u202f<strong><em>connect\n     directly to one or more Path pages.&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>Students\n     will be encouraged to visit the Path pages to find out more information\n     about how to navigate our curriculum to reach advanced levels in that\n     field and others, and how to access other resources and opportunities.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The purpose\nof the Faculty Directory is to highlight faculty expertise and what each\nfaculty member brings to Evergreen.<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Faculty profiles include a summary of\u202f<strong><em>who our\n     faculty are as professionals and what they offer in the Evergreen\n     curriculum<\/em><\/strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>The faculty directory is a\u202f<strong><em>tool\n     students&nbsp;can use to find experts in fields of study<\/em><\/strong>\u202fthey\n     are interested in learning more about.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>By <strong><em>highlighting faculty areas of\n     specialization and research<\/em><\/strong> it opens students up to new\n     possibilities for their own learning.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Stage&nbsp;1:\nDevelopment for Initial Publication by April 1, 2021&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Path\nWebpages:\u202f Primary goal in&nbsp;Stage&nbsp;1 is recruitment. Need simple hook,\nwith clear wayfinding for curriculum.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Marketing will provide&nbsp;updates\n     to additional&nbsp;sections for the current Path pages to support above\n     vision and attract new students.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>CAT Leaders&nbsp;and\n     Path Conveners will be asked to review for content clarity, accuracy, and\n     integrity of the new additional sections and give input to Amy, David, and\n     Larry.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>David and Larry review feedback and make\n     final edits.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Amy will provide&nbsp;final\n     edits to marketing for publication.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Fields of\nStudy: Primary goal in&nbsp;Stage&nbsp;1 is recruitment. Need clear simple\ndefinitions.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Faculty provide summaries and updates to current field of study pages\u00a0(<strong>BIG THANKS<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; to all who sent them in!)\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Amy will gather all updates and provide to marketing.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Marketing reviews new summaries for format and grammar, provides edits to Amy.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Amy will provide opportunity for quick review by CAT Leaders, Curriculum Team and David.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>David and Larry review feedback and make final edits.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Amy will provide to marketing for\u00a0publication.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty Directory: Goal \u2013 update with fields of study\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Amy provides form for faculty to identify with fields of\u00a0study\u00a0and\u00a0Paths\u00a0<\/li><li>Faculty complete identification with fields of study\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Amy updates catalog.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional\ncomponents for these<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;pages will need\ndevelopment and discussion over the Spring and Summer by the Path\nImplementation team. For now, I\u2019d like to share the vision for the next stage\nof work on Path, Field of Study and Faculty Directory webpages.<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stage&nbsp;2: Full Development for Publication by&nbsp;Fall\nQuarter&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Path Webpages:\nGoal \u2013 provide advising and&nbsp;support&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spring:\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Faculty provide further content by adding to additional sections in the updated template for the\u00a0Path webpages.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Provide updated templates to\u00a0Amy\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>David and Larry review.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Amy provides to Marketing.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Summer:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Core Team provides faculty with template\n     for&nbsp;Path Advising Page&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Summer Path Planning Meetings &#8211; Faculty\n     work on in-depth path content \u2013 with focus on curricular advising\n     (pre-req,&nbsp;etc) and co-curricular support options for current\n     student. Our goal is that this could be collaborative meeting between\n     faculty, student engagement, and marketing so that marketing can get an\n     inside view of what makes up each path.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>CAT Leaders and Larry review\n     content.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Amy provides templates to\n     marketing.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Marketing edits for clarity and\n     formatting.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>CAT Leader, Curriculum Team, and David\n     reviews for accuracy and provides feedback.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>David and Larry review feedback and make\n     final edits.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Provide to Amy for updating the&nbsp;path\n     advising webpages.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>\n     &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>\n     &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Fields of\nStudy: Goal \u2013 consistency and clarity&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Marketing reviews all field of study\n     pages to ensure one-voice, consistency, and a parallel level of detail.\n     Currently some fields of study pages are very length with many components\n     that we are now including in Path pages (they were designed before we had\n     Paths).
