{"id":2833,"date":"2021-03-04T15:55:03","date_gmt":"2021-03-04T23:55:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/ltc\/?p=2833"},"modified":"2021-04-12T17:57:07","modified_gmt":"2021-04-13T00:57:07","slug":"unlearning-racism-workshop-friday-march-12-at-1200-100","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/ltc\/2021\/03\/unlearning-racism-workshop-friday-march-12-at-1200-100\/","title":{"rendered":"Unlearning Racism Workshop, Friday March 12 at 12:00 &#8211; 1:00"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>From: <\/strong>Longaker, Jacob &lt;Jacob.Longaker@evergreen.edu&gt;<br> <strong>Date: <\/strong>Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 12:40 PM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dear&nbsp;Evergreen\nCommunity,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we\nstrive to cultivate a campus culture that fosters a positive learning and\nworking environment for students, faculty, and staff, consider the following\nresults from our campus climate assessment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Last year, approximately 1\/3 of our\n     students of color and 1\/2&nbsp;of our staff and faculty of color\n     experienced at least one instance of discrimination because of their\n     racial or ethnic identity.<br>\n     <br>\n     <br>\n     <\/li><li>59.5% of our faculty of color agree\n     they&nbsp;have to&nbsp;work harder than others to be valued equally at\n     Evergreen.&nbsp;In comparison, only&nbsp;23.4% of our white&nbsp;faculty\n     expressed similar sentiments.<\/li><li>At\n     73.2%, our staff report the highest levels of any group reporting frequent\n     interaction with people who hold different racial or ethnic identitiest\n     than their own.
