Last year, at roughly this time, we were preparing for\nfall 2020. Then as now, our first concern was for the health of our faculty,\nstaff, students, and the overall community.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to everyone\u2019s hard work, <a href=\"https:\/\/nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fsites.evergreen.edu%2Fcovid19%2Freporting-and-response%2F&amp;data=04%7C01%7Cwilliaas%40evergreen.edu%7C73e31b085c7d42120e9908d8d84e3b1c%7C22adcff7c06f49a68f2050711c40ddaa%7C0%7C0%7C637497178370114766%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&amp;sdata=GRm5MeKcRwcUZg8E8aqLQnu251ckNoaTb2HHtBe6ZfA%3D&amp;reserved=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">COVID-19 case counts at\nEvergreen<\/a> are very low, and there are no\nknown instances of COVID transmission through our curriculum. Our thanks go to\nstaff, faculty, and students for sticking closely to our safety plans.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can be difficult to imagine\nand plan for a future that feels very different from the world we live in\ntoday. As you know by now, Evergreen intends to conduct as much instruction as\npossible in person in the next academic year. Vaccination progress and dropping\nCOVID-19 case counts make us optimistic. Planning must start soon.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many of you have questions about fall 2021. The curriculum team hopes to present an <strong>information session during the Week 10 faculty meeting, <\/strong>to discuss planning for fall instruction and gather feedback on the planning process. Here are some general dates for you to consider:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>March 10: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Proposed faculty meeting time re: fall planning\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>March 29: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Deadline to complete fall \u201821 catalog revision form\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>April\/ May: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Early first-year registration\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>May 19:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Summer\/Fall \u201821 Academic Fair\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>May 24: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 General registration for summer and fall \u201821\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As always, our first concern\nremains the health of our faculty, staff, students, and the overall community.\nWe must ensure that our in-person classes are conducted safely.&nbsp;Evergreen\nlooks forward to negotiating with UFE to address workplace safety and working\nconditions, as we have throughout this pandemic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This kind of planning is\nchallenging and valuable work, and we value your flexibility and commitment to\nstudents as we approach fall registration.
