\nThe tutoring class, Cultivating Voice, is coming up in Spring Quarter. This\n2-credit course is open to students on the Olympia and\nTacoma campuses! <\/strong>Won\u2019t you please\nrecommend to your students that they join our info session?  Feel free\nto forward this email and share the attached document.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is it for?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We recommend\nCultivating Voice for anyone who is interested in understanding themselves and\ntheir writing process on a deeper level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students who enroll\nin Cultivating Voice: A Writing Tutor’s Craft are preparing a) to deeply\nexamine their own writing process and listening process, and b) to unpack the\nsociopolitical implications of engaging with their own and others’ voices.\nStudents practice tutoring with one another and with experienced writing tutors\nso that they can find out if tutoring is a good fit for them and, if so, hit\nthe ground running in fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of our tutors\nfound out about the opportunity to become a tutor through a staff or faculty\nmember. When you notice a student who is skilled in listening, offering\nvaluable feedback, and working well across significant differences, please\nrecommend that they pursue a position as a writing tutor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first steps on\nto the tutoring table start now. Writing Center alums go on to do amazing work\nwith the experiences and passions they cultivate at the Writing Center. We have\nawesome alumni that have gone on to thrive as counselors, public\nadministrators, writing professionals, publishers, graphic designers, social\nworkers, and more. So many of them credit their time at the Writing Center as\ncritical to building their resumes and confidence. Be a part of the magic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
