What do you do when Mom\nsays, \u201cYou\u2019re a woman now!\u201d but you know you\u2019re not a woman? Or when Dad keeps\nasking when you\u2019re going to bring a girlfriend home, but you\u2019re not interested\nin girls?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 
\nPuberty is an awkward and confusing time for anybody,\nbut for queer youth, feelings of social and physical discomfort can be\nheightened. Adolescence should be a time for making social connections and\nexploring new ideas, but many queer youth must also wrestle with\ncomplicated identity questions, familial and social bigotry, and difficult\ndecisions about whether to be safe or authentic.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 
\nIn Queer Adolescence<\/a>, personal accounts mingle\nwith factual information and sensitive analysis to provide a snapshot\nof the joys and concerns of American lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender,\nqueer, intersex, and asexual adolescents. Whether you\u2019re a parent, a clinician,\na teacher, or a queer person, this book will answer many questions and offer a\nway forward.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
