She has\nperformed in venues from Carnegie Hall and the Paris Opera House to music\nfestivals and local clubs, and collaborated with many well-known artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toshi will\nbe performing excerpts from the opera <em>Octavia E. Butler\u2019s Parable of the\nSower<\/em>, which she created with her mother Bernice Johnson Reagon. She will\nalso discuss the role of the artist in times of crisis, including the pandemic,\nthe climate crisis, and the ongoing struggle for racial and social justice.
