Dear\nEvergreen Community,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please join us in celebrating Michael Clifthorne, who\nis retiring from his position as Assistant Director of International Programs\nin early February.  In over 15 years of service at Evergreen, Michael has\ntransformed Evergreen\u2019s International Programs, expanding our consortium\npartners across the globe and developing exchange partnerships with\nuniversities in Daejeon, Korea, Roskilde, Denmark, and Xingwei, China.  With\npassion and professional knowledge, Michael has shown tireless dedication in\nsupporting international students studying at Evergreen, as well as faculty and\nstudents planning for extended learning experiences abroad through programs and\nILCs. Over the years, Michael has coordinated meaningful international and\ncross-cultural exchanges for thousands of students. Through in-depth studies in\nlanguages, culture, the environment, and politics, these students have gained\nexperiential knowledge to address the challenges and connections of our\nincreasingly globalized world.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During Michael\u2019s tenure, hundreds of students have\nreceived Gilman Scholarships to support their overseas study, and Evergreen has\nbecome one of the highest ranking smaller schools in Peace Corps participation.\nMichael has built a truly robust International Program at Evergreen.  We\ninvite you to join us in celebrating his many contributions to our community as\nhe sets off on his next adventure!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
