Dear\nColleagues,  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Greetings\nas we are ending an extraordinary week six.  I know most of us are\nexperiencing increased levels of anxiety as our attention is drawn to the\nlocal, state, and national elections and aftermath.  I appreciate all of\nthe care you are taking as you work with students within this context and extend\nmy continued thanks to the Elections 2020<\/a> Time Limited Committee for\ntheir work.  Kudos also to engaged students and colleagues from across the\ninstitution for creating a Voter Engagement Hub in accordance with The Voting\nOpportunities Through Education Act<\/a> (VOTE), a new law in\nWashington State with a goal of increasing voter engagement among youth and\ncollege students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within\nthis context, self- and community-care are particularly important.  If\nyou\u2019d like to enjoy some social time with some staff and faculty colleagues\nfrom across our division, it\u2019s not too late to sign up<\/a> for one of the remaining\nfall quarter gatherings.  I greatly appreciated the opportunity to connect\nand share some lighter moments at our first gathering of the year. I also\ninvite other suggestions on ways we can come together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With\nthanks to the CAT leaders for turning the curriculum planning retreat to New\nAcademic Directions (NAD), over 100 community members participated in this\nweek\u2019s launch of the next phase of the NAD project. If you weren\u2019t able to\nparticipate, you can find the agenda, a link to a recording of my opening\nremarks, where I provided information on how the New Academic Directions work\nis being rolled out in phases, and other information here: https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/bigbets\/all-campus-invited-to-participate-in-the-new-academic-directions-2020-2021-kick-off\/<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last\nweek, Student and Academic Life staff came together for our quarterly\nmeeting.  It was great to see everyone and to provide updates on topics\nthat have also been provided at faculty meetings. Faculty and staff will have\nadditional opportunities for discussion and to raise further questions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given\nrecent leadership changes in our division, I am including the link to an\nupdated reporting\nlines chart<\/a>. By the time I write my next update after\nThanksgiving break week, we will have transitioned from hybrid instruction to\nfully remote instruction for the remainder of fall quarter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank\nyou again for your commitment to the college and the many and various ways you\nare contributing to its success. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
