Dear Faculty Colleagues\n\u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you for all the work you are doing this fall to keep\nEvergreen and our community safer. After talking with many of you, our remote\nclasses appear to be off to another strong start. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Bridges mentioned in a recent email that Evergreen will continue\non its remote footing unless there are major changes related to COVID-19. With\nthis in mind, we are planning for most offerings to be remote in winter\nquarter. We will also be continuing with our hybrid learning pilot project.\nThis fall, Evergreen was able to support about 6-8 programs, along with a\nhandful of in-person ILCs or on-campus internships, totaling approximately 200\nstudents with access to in-person learning.  We are assessing whether we\ncan safely increase that capacity in winter quarter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The curriculum team wrote last week with information about winter\ncatalog changes. Faculty who wish to conduct in-person learning in their winter\nofferings should submit a request, using our online\nform,<\/a> by noon on Friday, October 16, 2020 <\/strong>(see\nbelow). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are restricted by limited resources on campus, including space,\nequipment, PPE, staff availability, and our capacity to respond to a potential\noutbreak. Our priorities for in-person learning are outlined on the online\nsubmission form. Among those priorities are continued safety, maintaining\ncrucial operations, and getting students to graduation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We expect to provide approvals to in-person learning requests by\nthe end of October. Questions should be directed to deans@evergreen.edu<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
