Hello, and\nwelcome to this dramatically different new year.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As many of you\nalready know, TRIO Student Success at The Evergreen State College is a\nfederally funded program that provides direct support services for first\ngeneration, low-income, and\/or students with documented disabilities to\nsuccessfully attain their bachelor\u2019s degrees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students who\nparticipate in the TRiO Student Success Services program have access to\nnumerous tools and resources intended to help them stay in school and earn a\ncollege degree. Experienced and knowledgeable staff work individually with each\nstudent, identifying and providing those resources which will be of greatest\nvalue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Staff and Faculty\nat Evergreen are such great partners in connecting students to TRiO. Below you\nwill find a number of opportunities for you to refer students and\/or learn more\nabout our work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

TRiO Applications are now open:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

TRiO Student\nSuccess has recently been awarded a second grant that will allow us to serve an\nadditional 100 students with documented disabilities. In the next couple months\nwe will begin to scale up the program and begin taking additional\napplications.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are\nworking with a student and are unsure if they are eligible for TRiO, please\nencourage them to check out the Apply<\/a> and FAQ section<\/a> of\nour TRiO Student Success webpage.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

TRiO 2 Credit\nStudent Success Course Is Accepting Students Through Week 2:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students can now register for the 2 Credit Fall TRiO Student\nSuccess Course.  TRiO\u2019s course is\nheld every Wednesday from 1:30-3:30pm. The purpose of this TRiO Student\nSuccess Class is to provide eligible students with the academic supports,\ntools, and resources that promote a successful transition into Evergreen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This course will be most helpful for students who\nare new to the college and may be particularly helpful for students who are\ntransferring in and may not have access to the FYE curriculum in their programs. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students do not have to be registered in TRiO to participate in\nthe course, but do need to be eligible (first generation, low income and\/or\nhave a documented disability).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you know of a\nstudent who may benefit from this course, please encourage them to contact trio@evergreen.edu<\/a> so that we may get them\nregistered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
