Hello faculty colleagues,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good news! We\u2019ve been building on successful support for remote learning, and expanding service in key areas such as curbside pick up of books and Chromebooks<\/strong>, and resumption of Summit <\/strong>resource sharing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please help us support you!

In short: we need to receive your support requests before Labor Day<\/strong>, so that we can be prepared when students and faculty “return” for Fall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

COVID-19 stretches and compresses time. The gift of your advance planning provides the time we need<\/strong> in library, media, technology, and other support areas to be able to review requests, assess what is possible, communicate with you toward solutions, make purchases, process materials, secure licenses, and guide students toward purchasing the devices and software they need. We support Tacoma, Olympia, and the Native Pathways Program, and all students graduate and undergraduate. For specific contact information scroll to the bottom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

QuaSR and Writing Center<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remote tutoring and some synchronous workshops are available in writing and quantitative reasoning. Remote tutoring is available to\u00a0all<\/strong>\u00a0students.
Scroll down for contact info (Blankenbiller for QuaSR; Birks for Writing Center) and for links to place in your syllabus\/Canvas so that students know how to access tutoring.
Media Loan<\/strong>
We offer equipment kits on extended loans for approved fall programs. Access to equipment is physically-distanced pickup, by appointment.
Our normal loan policy (short loan periods\/maximize access to equipment) is on hiatus. To maximize health and safety, we offer extended loan to a small number of students. I have directed Media Loan to prioritize:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Advanced media courses\/programs (earlier requests carry more weight than later requests)<\/li>
  2. Capstone media work (can include ILCs)<\/li>
  3. Pathway media courses\/programs<\/li>
  4. Media across the curriculum (non-media-centric courses\/programs\/ILCs\/capstones)<\/li>
  5. Other student, faculty, and staff use<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Media Instructional Support<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Library Proper<\/strong>:\u00a0doors will be closed through Fall Quarter. We offer robust electronic resources, as well as contactless pickup\/drop off\u00a0for books and Chromebooks.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Course Materials<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The library purchases every required course text:\u00a0e-book\u00a0copies with the best licenses we can get, and physical books if e-books are not available.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Some publishers will not allow libraries to purchase an e-textbook version of their publications, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
