Dear Colleagues, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am writing to invite you to share student projects created this\nyear that would fit the theme of \u201cLiberation and Justice\u201d to be shown\nduring our virtual Juneteenth Celebration on June 5. Student projects\nmight include visual arts, media and multimedia, creative writing and\nperformance arts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This virtual event commemorates African-American liberation\nfrom slavery and is a collaboration between Olympia and Tacoma, with\ncoordination led by Carl Forbes, Associate Director of Admissions &\nMulticultural Recruitment. Last year, under the leadership of VP Chassity\nHolliman-Douglas, we launched an amazing campus-wide celebration of this\nliberatory celebration and also honored many of our community elders. \nThis year, in addition to talented guests and alum, we’d also like to include a\nsection of multicultural, multi-issue student work that addresses themes of\nliberation and justice. If the work isn’t already recorded for use in the\nprogram, we are coordinating with Electronic Media for support and can arrange\nfor that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
