As this challenging and remarkable quarter reaches its\nconclusion, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for all you have done to\nhelp students succeed. We also have some reminders for the weeks and months\nahead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

End-of-year student\npresentations <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tacoma’s Spring Fair,\nfeaturing a wide range of student presentations launched May\n16 and continues through May 23. Tacoma Faculty warmly welcome\nwide participation, which in a virtual format includes offering written\ninsights and responses to students. https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/tacomaspringfair\/<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Learning and Teaching\nCommons at the Washington Center offers to help publicize end-of-year student\npresentations, conferences, media screenings, etc. For coordination and\npublication to a WordPress site please fill out this questionnaire<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virtual Event Planning<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Event\norganizers seeking Media Services support, please make requests at least\ntwo weeks in advance at: https:\/\/www.evergreen.edu\/electronicmedia\/remote-media-production-request<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Academic Fair<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Academic Fair<\/a>, typically held at the Olympia campus, will now be held\nremotely on May 27, 2020.  All faculty\nneed to fill out <\/strong>this webform<\/strong><\/a>  by Wednesday,\nMay 20<\/strong>th<\/sup> in\norder to be listed on the fair guide sites page and to have a zoom meeting\ncreated to participate: <\/strong>https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/academicfair\/faculty-registration-for-academic-fair\/<\/a>. Addition details and instructions will be coming to faculty via\nemail soon. Registration\nweek for summer and fall quarters will now begin on June 1, 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Year End Deadlines<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Academic Statements: <\/strong>Students will still be required to submit their annual\nand final academic statements this spring. Annual iterations of the statement\nare due Thursday, May 14<\/strong>; graduating seniors need to submit their\nfinal statement by Friday, June 30<\/strong>. Evaluations of students are to be completed and\nposted, as usual, two weeks after evaluation week:  June 26<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a reminder, we are postponing regular faculty reviews<\/strong>\nand a working with the UFE on a new calendar and with staff\nin the Deans Area on process for submitting portfolios. Our goal\nis to ensure necessary reviews for faculty on track from term to\ncontinuing contracts.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration week<\/strong> for summer and fall quarters will now begin on June\n1, 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer School<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer\n2020 will be remote, with select\nexceptions for highly experiential courses offered in-person for the second\nsession, if conditions allow. Please note that this decision is prompting us to\nreview current offerings published in the summer catalog<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer ILC\/INT Policy<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guidelines for students<\/a> <\/strong> developing\nan Individual Learning Contract (ILC) or an Internship (INT) for Summer and\nFall 2020 are the same as guidelines for remote learning issued in\nthe spring. This means all learning this summer quarter will be under remote\nconditions in order to meet state guidelines issued in Governor Inslee\u2019s Stay Home, Stay Healthy directive<\/strong><\/a>. There may be some exceptions considered, given the\nphased nature of the governor\u2019s most recent guidelines. Under certain\nconditions and by petition only, some exceptions may be provided for learning\nactivities that are planned to occur in the second half of the summer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer institutes<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To\nsupport and enrich our collective growth as a learning organization, the\nLearning and Teaching Commons has collaborated with Academic Deans, Inclusive\nExcellence and Student Success, faculty, and staff to curate an engaging mix of\nsponsored and community-initiated summer institute offerings. Visit the 2020 Evergreen Summer Institute Program<\/a> to review the calendar\nand institute descriptions.  Registration opens Wednesday, May 20. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deans’ Treats<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We regret that we cannot\noffer you some refreshment and company during evaluation writing again this\nquarter. We hope that you will find ways to nourish yourselves and connect with\none another. Fall Academic Retreat<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our annual Academic\nRetreat will be held virtually on Wednesday and Thursday, September\n12 and 13. The agenda for the Retreat is currently being developed by the\nAgenda Committee and Academic Deans. We’ll be in touch with more details during\nthe summer.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

COVID-19 Institutional Response Surveys<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Institutional Research\nreached out yesterday via an email invitation to see how faculty, staff, and\nstudents are coping during this challenging time. We want to know how you feel\nabout our response to COVID-19 and if there are things we can do to\nsupport you through this difficult period. We\u2019d also like to know about your\nexperiences with various methods of remote teaching this term. Faculty and\nstaff surveys are anonymous and the survey is being administered by\nan independent organization. The survey is short and should only take 5-10\nminutes. Please check your email for your invitation and encourage\nstudents to fill out the survey as well.<\/strong> You may have received more\nthan one survey invitation depending if you are a faculty, staff, or student\n(or all three). You are welcome to take each survey for which you received an\ninvitation. If you have any questions about the survey please contact\nCoral Garey (gareyc@evergreen.edu<\/a>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
