Hi all,

This afternoon, President George Bridges will announce that we will provide our curriculum remotely for the duration of spring quarter. This means we will need to accommodate remote learning for our students for all of spring quarter, even if conditions allow us to start doing some in-person instruction later in the quarter.  More information will follow if the conditions change.

I want to advise you of this decision and let you know that a communication to staff and studentsLinks to an external site.<\/a> is also underway, and Evergreen\u2019s COVID-19 websiteLinks to an external site.<\/a> will feature this decision as well. A press release is also forthcoming.

You have all been working hard to prepare to teach remotely.  The Keep Teaching sessions have been very well-attended, and the collegial conversations lively. I trust that this preparation has begun to equip you to teach remotely for the duration of spring quarter. We are certainly being called upon to embody the value we place on brave lifelong learning.

The deans and I know that many of you will have specific questions and concerns, and we will reach out with more information soon.  I am also including a message from Julia Metzker below for information on how the Learning and Teaching Commons is continuing to support your work.
