{"id":1177,"date":"2020-03-16T15:43:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-16T22:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/ltc\/?p=1177"},"modified":"2020-03-20T22:21:12","modified_gmt":"2020-03-21T05:21:12","slug":"recast-updated-plan-for-the-keep-teaching-institutes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/ltc\/2020\/03\/recast-updated-plan-for-the-keep-teaching-institutes\/","title":{"rendered":"RECAST | Updated Plan for the Keep Teaching Institutes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dear colleagues,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In light of feedback from many of our community members, as well as the recent message from the White House (which \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2020\/03\/16\/trump-recommends-avoiding-gatherings-of-more-than-10-people-132323\">advised people not to gather in groups of more than 10<\/a>\u201d)\u00a0<strong>we are updating our plan for the \u201cKeep Teaching\u201d institutes and will offer only remote options.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new plan is to \u201cflip\u201d the classroom and ask participants to do some work asynchronously (on their own) before attending two remote, half-day sessions. These will take place Thursday and Friday of this week, and will repeat Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. This will be completed by the end of the day today (Monday, March 16), and we will send out the link to all attendees who RSVP.<\/li><li>Do a test drive: Set up a meeting with a colleague in Zoom to see how it handles.&nbsp;As a reminder, Zoom accounts are free &#8212; and you can do up to 40 minutes per session with a free account.
