“The goal of this summer institute is to explore and develop (i) ideas for academic (credit-bearing) certificates that could support curricular areas in Professional and Continuing Education and (ii) certificate ideas (if any) that are prioritized by Paths, CATs, or other campus units.  Certificates must be 12-44 credits. Each course or program in the certificate must be able to ‚Äústand alone‚Äù (i.e., have distinct catalog copy, title, equivalencies, canvas site, etc.) Please email Lori for additional information about implementation constraints. All faculty and staff are welcome to participate. Developing a proposal does not require (or insure) that one will teach the curriculum, but elaborating and exploring ideas will help the college create Evergreen-specific certificates that can contribute to enrollment growth.
During this workshop, participants will receive guidance and support for completing a proposal that includes: (i) description of the certificate and its components, (ii) initial student demand research, (iii) initial research on perceived value to employers, (iv) basic logistics (schedule, instructional mode, prerequisites, budget), and (v) assessment strategies.
