I am the one who often loses my personhood,<\/p>\n
I get lost within my responsibilities.<\/p>\n
The caregiver, of a dying spouse,<\/p>\n
A housekeeper,<\/p>\n
The landscaper and gardener.<\/p>\n
I am becoming the medical expert and manager,<\/p>\n
And the bandager of daily wounds.<\/p>\n
A masseuse and Chiropractor,<\/p>\n
Comforter, entertainer and medication manager.<\/p>\n
A cook and nutritionist of specialized diets,<\/p>\n
and the cheerleader of healthy food.<\/p>\n
His ears and his voice, whenever someone talks to him.<\/p>\n
His protector and security manager.<\/p>\n
I am the home repair specialist and mechanic.<\/p>\n
The technology expert, both computer and phone,<\/p>\n
I am the accountant and the legal advisor, tax preparer and bill payer.<\/p>\n
I am the one who loves him and is by his side every day and night.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I am the one who is a mother and step mother of boys- grown<\/p>\n
The one who calls for help with their father and is denied.<\/p>\n
I am the grandmother unwanted,<\/p>\n
Until work need to be done, or money is needed.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I am a dog owner- with 4<\/p>\n
Rescued from death, they all depend on me.<\/p>\n
The one who calculates nutrition and feeds,<\/p>\n
Exercise and training, cleaning and brushing,<\/p>\n
I am a chicken owner as well.<\/p>\n
I am the one who takes care of them all.<\/p>\n
I am the one who cries alone at night,<\/p>\n
Who struggles to find time, even a minute for myself.<\/p>\n
I am the unavailable friend,<\/p>\n
Who doesn\u2019t always return phone calls or messages,<\/p>\n
I am the one who needs to stay home.<\/p>\n
Who forgets about me.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I am the one who is a student now,<\/p>\n
Learning to earn, to survive and pay my way.<\/p>\n
I am the one proving to myself that I can learn,<\/p>\n
That I have something to contribute.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I am also the one who is an artist,<\/p>\n
The one who used to create and show.<\/p>\n
The one who can draw and paint.<\/p>\n
I am a writer, one with stories to tell.<\/p>\n
I am the one who is still trying to find me.<\/p>\n
