{"id":131,"date":"2020-10-29T22:49:07","date_gmt":"2020-10-30T05:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/knappr\/?p=131"},"modified":"2020-10-30T21:39:28","modified_gmt":"2020-10-31T04:39:28","slug":"we-need-more-than-sustain-ability","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/knappr\/we-need-more-than-sustain-ability\/","title":{"rendered":"we need more than sustain-ability"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Here is the start of a short essay I&#8217;ve just added to the Writing and Speaking section: &#8220;I have a personal mantra which is close to the surface when I think (or have feelings) about sustainability: &#8216;We will only sustain a world we find worth sustaining.&#8217; Much of the breadth and profundity of the sustainability challenge is wrapped up in these words, because the &#8216;we&#8217; who do the work of sustaining will have to be very many disparate yet cooperating people.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the micro-essay is in the entry called Sustain-able and Sustain-willing.
