It is a place to pause and get acquainted with the trees. You will find conifers such as western hemlock (<em>Tsuga heterophylla)<\/em>, Douglas fir\u00a0<em>(Pseudotsuga menziesii)<\/em>, grand fir (<em>Abies\u00a0grandis)<\/em>, and Sitka spruce (<em>Picea sitchensis)<\/em>. Among deciduous trees, we have red alder (<em>Alnus rubra)<\/em>, Pacific dogwood (<em>Cornus nuttallii)<\/em>, and black hawthorn (<em>Crataegus douglasii<\/em>), and a variety of under story shrubs, herbaceous plants, and ferns.<\/p>\n<p>Pathways welcome you to wander among the trees or pause and listen to the birds.
