If you are unfamiliar with a plant use multiple sources to verify, including the use of a dichotomous key.  When using the internet use reliable sources such as those affiliated with extension services, universities and the government.   <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Small Quantity<\/strong><br>Take only a very small quantity so you leave abundance for others, especially those who care for the garden.  Harvest with an eye towards preserving the overall shape and symmetry of the plant.  If it is a common plant, such as sword fern (<em>Polystichum munitum<\/em>),  consider harvesting from outside the garden.
