All Campus VACCINATION REQUIREMENT POLICY
As announced on May 6, Evergreen will require vaccination before the fall quarter for all students, staff, and faculty. We know it’s the surest way to keep our community safe. Please read the employee vaccine policy and the student vaccine policy for details on deadlines, how to soon upload or provide your records in person, and how to apply for an exemption and accommodation.
On June 30, Governor Inslee re-opened the state of Washington, removing masking and social distancing requirements from most places. The state has since issued new workplace guidance, and new recommendations for higher education, based in large part on Center for Disease Control guidelines. Evergreen is in the process of becoming a fully vaccinated college, which according to these guidelines allows us to safely adjust current operations and our planning for fall.
For now until August 30: Evergreen will remain on limited hybrid operations, with faculty and staff returning in person before August 30 as needed. Please see Evergreen’s Back to Campus Guidance, published April 14, 2021, if you need a review.
As a reminder, fully vaccinated students, employees, and guests who have verified their vaccination status with their faculty or supervisor per Evergreen’s interim guidance policy may already study or work indoors and outdoors in person without masking or distancing. Unvaccinated students, employees, and visitors must remain masked and should maintain distancing.
Updating telework and campus service hours: Human Resources and campus leadership are working on finalizing the college’s telework policy and determining fall service hours for different parts of the college. We are dedicated to policies that apply an equity lens to our decisions, support our students and reflect our capacity. In the meantime, our interim telework policy is still in place and can be used if helpful.
While we don’t know exactly what the future will bring, we now have some current and scientifically based guidelines to map the way to Evergreen’s post-pandemic operations. Please take a good look through all of the links we have provided for deeper understanding of these guidelines.
