This page features recent projects; students and staff have also created proposals for many others – projects focused on agriculture & food systems<\/span><\/a>, energy infrastructure<\/span><\/a>, our natural environment<\/span><\/a>, campus organizations<\/span><\/a>, educational materials<\/span><\/a>, and engagement with the wider community.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\r\n

The Bulkhead Removal Project at Bushoowah-Ahlee Point on Evergreen’s beach aims to contribute to salmon habitat restoration by removing shoreline armoring, with collaboration between the South Puget Sound Salmon Enhancement Group, Squaxin Island Tribe, and The Evergreen State College. Development of this solar project on the college’s Recreation Pavilion was led by students, implemented with the help of the Climate Center, and funded by a grant from the students’ Clean Energy Committee. It will save the college around $13,000 a year in energy costs, and at least $440,000 over its 25 year lifetime. It’s also expected to reduce our carbon footprint by about 88,000 pounds of CO2 each year. The Center blogged about it here<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n

The Center and the Bikeshop Co-op (a student organization) are in the process of reviving the Campus Bikeshop.
