Below are a few common types. We also try to ensure there are also remote and in-person opportunities to accommodate different needs.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>General Volunteer Work<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>If you are interested in work to help further the Climate Center&#8217;s programs and goals we typically can use help with Outreach, Events, and Projects. <a href=\"mailto:ClimateAction@evergreen.edu\">Emailing<\/a> to let us know what type of work is of interest is the best way to get started. Some examples under each category are below:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><strong>Outreach<\/strong> &#8211; physically flyering, making announcing out in the community, creating online media content.<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong>Events<\/strong> &#8211; helping set-up, take-down, greeting guests, or designing workshops and film screenings.<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong>Projects<\/strong> &#8211; everything from designing\/developing, creating art, or writing pieces. Such as artistic renditions of proposed sustainability projects, writing blog submissions about a local speaker\/event, or helping collect information for steps and details for solar installation.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>The Climate Corps (with the Solarpunk Society)<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>If you are interested in either designing or participating in <strong>active, hands-on community work<\/strong> <strong>or events<\/strong> such as; eco-restoration work parties, participating in citizen\/community science, environmental monitoring, or various arts and crafts, emailing <a href=\"mailto:ClimateAction@evergreen.edu\">ClimateAction@evergreen.edu<\/a> or submitting an <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/6utLWkgvASoJLtp2A\">Solarpunk Society interest form<\/a> is the first step.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Event Assistance with Thurston Climate Action Team (TCAT)<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>Our partnered organization, <a href=\"https:\/\/thurstonclimateaction.org\/\">TCAT<\/a>, often has <strong>off-campus events and activities<\/strong> that can use volunteers. From <strong>greeting guests at our lecture series<\/strong>, to <strong>running table activities with youth and families<\/strong>. Emailing <a href=\"mailto:info@thurstonclimateaction.org\">info@thurstonclimateaction.org<\/a> with what type of work you&#8217;re interested in is the best first step to see what&#8217;s coming up.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Educational Volunteering<\/b><!-- example volunteer page :   --><!-- I think this text should be here, but we might consider also having an attractive page stuff about actual volunteers, if we get any besides me... --><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">If you&#8217;re an elementary or high school teacher, or work in higher education, and would like to donate your services or time, <span style=\"color: #21759b\"><a href=\"mailto:ClimateAction@evergreen.edu?subject=Volunteering with the Climate Center\">please\u00a0let us know<\/a><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #000000\">We&#8217;re very interested in developing more opportunities to help support or collaborate with educational professionals in our region who are concerned about climate change and sustainability.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Examples of volunteer opportunities:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>\r\n<p>Assist with promoting the Center&#8217;s services and programs in your school<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li>\r\n<p>Attend some of our events on line<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li>\r\n<p>Write an article about your work teaching about climate or sustainability issues for our monthly newsletter<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li>\r\n<p>Facilitate a Climate Action Collaborative virtual workshop about integrating climate or sustainability issues into other classes, from art projects to English or psychology<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li>\r\n<p>Offer consulting hours as a Climate Center Resource Faculty.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>Interested in other options not listed above?
