The South Sound Eco-Network maintains <a href=\"https:\/\/www.southsoundeconetwork.org\/educationguide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #339966\">a guide to local environmental organizations that need help and offer internships.<\/span><\/a>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>If you&#8217;re not sure where to start, you can use <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/uvyq3L6hQcdaQ4178\"><span style=\"color: #339966\">this survey<\/span><\/a> to get paired up with groups that are seeking volunteers.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong>Practice Self\/Communal Care.<\/strong> Seriously. It&#8217;s hard to participate in a movement when you&#8217;re burnt out. <em>Maslow&#8217;s Hierarchy of Needs<\/em> is a great framework to highlight the need for securing a safe and stable environment.\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Fortunately there are a lot of practices that can benefit the environment or avoid harming it &#8211; nature walks, using libraries, talking\/listening with friends and community members, crafting\/DIY, etc.. (Check back for a fuller future list).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong>Download the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.climateactionnow.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #339966\">Climate Action Now App<\/span><\/a><\/strong>. This is a phone app you can download. After you get an account set up, it&#8217;ll prompt you with short political or personal actions you can take.<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong>Do <a href=\"https:\/\/jointheshift.earth\/\"><span style=\"color: #339966\">SHIFT&#8217;s Survey<\/span><\/a>.<\/strong> This web survey can feel a bit silly, but helps people dig deep into what overarching strategic actions they can take to support larger scale changes based on their situation.\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Alternatively, you can explore your own ideas by doing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ayanaelizabeth.com\/climatevenn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #339966\">Ayana Elizabeth&#8217;s exercise<\/span><\/a> based on the Japanese concept of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ikigai\"><span style=\"color: #339966\">Ikigai<\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ways to become more informed, get engaged, and quickly take action.
