{"id":2,"date":"2014-02-14T18:27:10","date_gmt":"2014-02-15T01:27:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.evergreen.edu\/camino\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2014-02-14T18:27:10","modified_gmt":"2014-02-15T01:27:10","slug":"camino","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/caminomap\/","title":{"rendered":"Study Abroad on &#8220;El Camino&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Walking to Santiago de Compostela&#8221; is a two-quarter study abroad program offered by Bill Arney in the winter and spring quarters, 2016.\u00a0 Winter quarter, on campus, we will study <i>El<\/i> <i>Camino<\/i>, the collection of traditional pilgrimage routes that all end in Santiago de Compostela in the Autonomous Community (<span lang=\"es\"><i>comunidad aut\u00f3noma<\/i><\/span>\/<span lang=\"gl\"><i>comunidade aut\u00f3noma<\/i>) <\/span>of Galicia, northwestern Spain.\u00a0 The winter quarter will include four hours a week in &#8220;Conversational Spanish&#8221; offered by David Phillips.\u00a0 Spring quarter, students will walk the <i>Camino\u00a0<\/i>to Santiago and, likely, the\u00a0<em>Camino Finisterre<\/em>, the way to &#8220;the end of the world.\u201d Near the end of the quarter we will gather in Santiago or Finisterre to reflect together on our experiences.<\/p>\n<p>A longer program description is available on the &#8220;Program Description&#8221; page.\u00a0 Check other pages for resources on the <em>Camino<\/em>, estimates of program expenses and other important information.\u00a0 These pages will change as the program takes shape.
