In 1985, she defected to France, where she is cur\u00a0rently\u00a0a professor of American literature and art. Her novel,\u00a0Stela,\u00a0was published by Ninebark Press\u00a0(2016), and she is the author of two books of nonfiction,\u00a0Touching Surfaces\u00a0(Rodopi, 2009) and\u00a0John Hawkes:\u00a0L\u2019enfant &amp; le cannibale\u00a0(Belin, 1997). She also co-edited\u00a0The Art of\u00a0Collaboration: Artists, Poets, Books\u00a0(Cuneiform Press, 2015). Her poetry, prose, and translations\u00a0have been published in Romanian, English, and French in Europe and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/artlectureseries\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/269\/2021\/06\/Mejia_preview-200x300-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-623\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/michaelmejiawriter.com\/\">Michael Mejia<\/a>\u00a0is the author of the novels\u00a0TOKYO\u00a0and\u00a0Forgetfulness, and his writing has been\u00a0published in many journals and anthologies.
